Owensboro’s only black belt in BJJ, Joeseph Lee Baize of Nice Guy Submission Fighting, competed in the most prestigious grappling tournament in the world, ADCC 2011… This tournament is where THE BEST grapplers IN THE WORLD come to compete for the gold. After winning the ADCC trails Joe earned his spot at the -98.9kg weight class.. Some grapplers included in this weight class go by the names of Xande Ribeiro, Joao Assis, Rudolfo Viera, and Dean Lister. NGSF’s Joe Baize competed against IBJJF World Champion Rudolfo Viera in the first round of the tournament. Rudolfo defeated Joe Baize via armbar about 7min into the first round after several scrambles for position… We as a team and family are very proud of Joe’s accomplishments and are also proud to call him a coach and a friend. Not many people are capable of earning an opportunity to compete at the highest level, and Joe has. Starting from a small garage at the age of 17 to competing over seas with THE BEST! WAR NGSF!

November 19th in Bowling Green Kentucky at Hardrock MMA 41, Jason Hayden and Scott Stevens of NGSF will be facing off once again. Jason Hayden will be staring in the main event of the night against Derby Cities Brandon Sandefur. Scott Stevens will be taking on Garrett Peirce fighting out of Ultimate Martial Arts. Starting off was Scott Stevens, Winning his fight against Lloyd McKenzie with a spectacular KO in 1:20 of the 1st round! Also winning The Fight of the Night award… Next was Jason Hayden, making his pro debut against Tyrelle Olding, from Georgetown MMA! Jason Wins by heelhook in 1:05 of the 1st round, way to go NGSF!

Joe Baize defeated Roger Carroll via reverse heelhook! Joe Baize still staying active after winning his free invite at the ADCC east coast trials. He defeated Roger Carroll in an invite grappling match in Gokor and Gene Lebel’s Hayastan grappling tournament in Charlotte NC. Roger Carroll is a black belt in BJJ and a professional MMA fighter, he was definitely no slouch! Congratulations Joe Baize on the win and keep leg surfing! (pictures coming soon)

Joe Baize from NGSF in Owensboro Kentucky is ADCC bound! He earned this free invite by winning the east coast ADCC Trials in NJ. Beating some top competitors such Nolan Dutcher and grapplers under Renzo Gracie. Who would have thought a person that started training out of the garage with Warren Brooks -on very thin tarp- would be bound for the biggest grappling tournament in the world!? We are all very proud of his accomplishments and cant wait to see how he fairs against some of the best submission grapplers in the world. Either way Joseph Baize is putting Owensboro,NGSF, and our Team1 affiliates on the map…. Congrats to Joe Baize, be a ninja turtle!

Joe Baize and Jason Hayden of Team1 competed in an invite only tournament in Cincinnati Ohio against some very tough competition. Teams from Jorge Gurgel, Shawn Hammonds, and Relson Gracie. Team1 came out on top winning and beating out all of the other teams!!! Joe Baize finished with 2 leg lock submissions giving the team 6 points by himself! Jason Hayden won his first match by decision giving the team 1 point. Later, Jason met Jon Meyer (Jorge Gurgel Black-belt) in the last match losing by straight arm-lock. But with all the points added up, we were still able to come out with the win! Also, shortly after Mike Clark achieved his purple belt… he didn’t hesitate and jumped rite into competition coming in 3rd in gi and no gi advanced!!!(Jason Hayden looking for legs!)
